Secret Santa 08

It was an extremely busy November for me because of ASIMO - Honda's & the World First Humanoid Robot. So much to say about the "Little Boy" but NOT at this moment because we are still keeping track on his news, looking out for coverage. Don't want my blog to "appear" when searching for news on him. So shall update on ASIMO much later.

Christmas is just few days away! I am officially broke.. Well not just yet but next month cause my credit card has ALREADY exploded! Sigh but its worth it right? Christmas only comes once a year!

The RASCEN's has Secret Santa every year for the past 4 years. & we did our exchange of presents last week (Dec 11). I got Rinee this year & got her a "Charles & Keith" shoe. I loved it! LOL & Cassie was my secret santa & she got me a Chanel mascara! I hope I don't get spoilt by it because if I do, I will need to get it every 6 months & get broke! But I so love the gift!

Looking back at our secret santa sessions, oh how we changed so much! I have the pictures of us during secret santa from 2006-2008 but 2005 is missing. I think its in my CDs somewhere at home.

Take a look!

Italianies, 1 Utama - 2006

TTDI - 2007

More years to come!
& also more updates later? (i hope)

Happy Bday to the Wifey!

*Sorry Wifey is this entry seems "rushed" but it is rushed!*

There are some months is a year that is filled with Birthdays every week and
for me, October is the month filled with Birthdays in a row!

29, 30, 31
Mummy, Wifey, the Boyfriend's mummy

So Yin, your hamburger-ed between two mummies!

Here is an entry dedicated to my wifey, wishing her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a run down on memory lane.

It all started way back in Alpha Kindergarten in ss19. We were from the same kindergarten, did our final dance together & even took a picture! BUT I never knew she existed until just few years back when I was looking at my old pictures & realized "How come this girl look so familiar?". & Ta Dah! It was my wifey. What a small world...

So fat hor?

I have to admit then we didn't get along well in High School during F1 & F2. We only got to know each other better in F3, when Wendy was in the same class as her.

Not until during College days when we got closer.

Her birthday at Centre Point, Pizza Uno. Year.... 2003?

Muka babi!

My fav picture of us. At Bangsar.
Wifey was in Penang for about a year & that was the time I missed her the most. I think it was because of that, now we see each other every Friday night.

I was alone in Pavilion, KL waiting for the boyfriend. The Wife came to my rescue & accompanied me.

In Somo

In Laundry

A whole day of shopping in KL! *when are we going to do this again?*

In Goddezz, Solaris.

The Cave. Latest picture we took together.

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY WIFEY!
Thank you for just being who you are to me.

Hehe Haha Hoho
From now onwards, I will stop saying "It has been awhile since I last blog" because then I will be saying that everytime I write an entry. It might even be my standard opening line or template.

This entry is 1 week overdue. So lets rewind a little bit shall we?

My brother got married last week. It was a really great day, even the
weather was extremely kind to us.

To divert a little bit, I took off from work on Friday (Oct17). In the morning, when I went to my car, I saw something on my windscreen! Guess what....

Can guess?

To cut things short, my brother finally got married.

Family picture. More pictures on my Facebook.

Another update:
HAPPY 2ND RASCEN DAY! (October 19)
Won't go into explaining about RASCEN day, maybe another day.

The day we declared RASCEN day. The day we cried all day long because college was ending & everyone was going overseas. This was at Bangsar, Actors Studio.

First year 2007. At Bangsar Montes'.

2008
How much we've changed. & we look so dirty, the after work look.

Love you guys! Muaks.

My Raya Holiday

I have been neglecting my blog for some time now. Seriously, I have been to busy with work to even think or have the time to update it. So many topics running through my mind to write about.

Lets just start with what I did during my Raya holidays this year.

It was a damn good long 5 days in a row holiday. On Tuesday (Oct 28) night, I went on a "date" with the boyfriend. Japanese food at Hartamas called "Sugimoto" followed by German beer in The Curve.

We shared sushi.

His dish.

& my fattening dish!

I have been trying to look for a waist belt with a buckle! But everytime its ugly, too expensive or toooo big! Finally I found one I like for only RM19.90.

Mmm, German beer...

On Wednesday (Oct 29) night, me , the boyfriend, sis & her boyfriend went to Bar Celona in Sunway. Haven been there before as I heard the crowd there is a bit off but my sis said the music was good. Old school r&b. True enough, the music rocks!

My sis abuses her bf...! Actually she was biting him. lol

I abuse my bf! Actually it was a coincident pic ok!

Yes, I love my sister...

Heart them!

The next day, went to Pavilion for shopping! I needed to get a shoe to match my morning dress for my brother's wedding. The color of the dress is pinkish purple-ish which made it hard to find the perfect shoes. Went into Charles & Keith, saw a lot of shoes I fell in love with BUT only 1 shoe match the dress - To be honest, it wasn't love at first sight & it was one of the most expensive out of the bunch. After quite awhile of thinking & thinking & thinking...I decided to get it.

Here is my new shoe. Nice?
Its even more expensive than the shoe I will be using for the night dinner!

Quote to happiness

My favorite radio station: 95.8 FM - Fly FM
I listen to them everytime I get in the car, especially in the morning on the way to work because I find Phat Fabes and Ben from the Pagi Show super hilarious (Nadia is okay).

Every morning, they have a different topic for the day. Few days back, the topic was "How do you know when you are ready for marriage?". Ben proposed to his gf, Stella in Hong Kong - Oh how romantic and disastrous it was at the same time.

Anyway, reason why I am writing this post was because a girl sms-ed in and said this:
"It is not about finding the right person to love; But it is about learning to love the person that you've found"

Nobody could have put it better in words than that.

Events Oh Events

Following up on my previous post on September 17.

As mentioned, set-up for our event that night can only be done at 2am. Event was at KL Hilton but we booked at Le Meridien. Reason because it was RM60 cheaper but the room still came up to RM500+ a night! For a small room without breakfast: So not worth it!

Small room but very cozy.

The toilet had speakers hidden somewhere. So when you o the TV or radio, it plays in the bathroom as well.

To jump away from pictures of the hotel for a short while, set-up that night was a nightmare.
All 3 ballrooms in KL Hilton was used that night & they had really massive set-up which took like forever to take down which effected our set-up.

To make matters worst, the security was giving our suppliers a hard time. They didn't allow them up even after we had filled in the form of the workers names earlier. They insisted on seeing the immigrant workers passport! They had their worker ID card but said they needed passport! Hello....you don't expect a worker to be bringing their passport everywhere they go & plus the hotel did not inform us earlier.

So after fighting & negotiating, they allowed them in. At 3am! The backdrop had some issues so by the time we were done, it was 6am! & I had to get up at 7.30am to get ready for the event. So, I only had 1 1/2 hours of sleep that night.

Back to pictures of the hotel: In the morning.

I love the fact that the windows are fully glassed from top to bottom. When you stand at the window, you feel like you're flying! Seriously!

The view. It was a nice view. Could even see KL Tower & Petronas Twin Tower.

Even only getting 1 1/2 hour of sleep, I still had to smile!

A picture of the ballroom.

With the client.

Yay! Successful event makes the client smile & me too!
Don't ask why I am like a sore thumb! Already wearing red then want to be taller than everyone else. =S

September 17

When I found out last week that September 17 was a Selangor Holiday, I wanted to jump for joy. But I was in office, so I just smiled. Happily wanting to jot it down in my dairy, I literally stoned as I saw on my September 18 "box" I wrote "Project Insights (SMG). This time I literally said out loud "NOOOOOO"!

An event on the very next day! How am I going to print the press kits? How am I going to call the media? I tried calming myself that maybe I could finalize & print all the documents for the press kit on September 16 & on September 17 I can call the media from home?

To cut things short, I am now in office on September 17, a Selangor Public Holiday!
& to make things worst, the set up in the hotel tonight can only be done at blady 2am in the morning because the event tonight in the ballroom only ends at 12am & they have massive set-up! Good thing is my boss booked a room for us so we don't have to go back home.

Sigh, & I just realized I forgot to bring my handphone charger.

Moving Out!

We are finally shifting out....from my office.

My office is situated in Damansara Perdana. Not sure where that is? Here are some clues:
The area beside The Curve, Ikea & Ikano. Friendster Cafe. The new Citibank. The Edge/Financial Daily new office.
Still not sure? Go get a map!

Ever since I started working there, February 2007, I have "experienced" 3 robbery.
To cut straight to the point, here are some solid reasons why you shouldn't live or work in Damansara Perdana (DP).

1. Security
When I first started working there, my colleagues told me there was an incident where a salesman came in the office & without anyone knowing, took 2 handphones. Sounds familiar?

While I was working there, here are my own experience:
Scenario 1: Me & 3 other colleagues went out for lunch. 1 of my colleague usually packs her food from home and eats in office. While she was eating, someone used the office card pass, scanned & came in. My colleague thought it was one of us so she didn't bother. Lucky she didn't cause when we came back, 4 of our laptops was gone! Broad daylight and had our office pass. Hmmmm.....

Scenario 2: I reached office early in the morning, the same time as another 1 of my colleague. Heard the office alarm ringing like crazy! Went up, the front doors were still locked up. Opened & to our horror, the office was in a mess! 2 laptops gone (including mine), 2 laptops were thrown on the floor (1 with the battery stolen), camera, original programmes, etc. Whats the worst thing? The alarm was ringing for at least 4-5 hours & the security didn't bother.

Scenario 3: This happened just last week on Thursday. My colleague was in front of my office on the sidewalk! A motorbike stopped, the backseat guy jumped down & ran towards my colleague & stole her bag. This happened at 2pm! Not only was it broad daylight but during lunch hour.

2. Parking
Parking there is like the parking in Taipan, USJ. We do not have basement carpark & we pay to MBPJ. There are not enough parking bays so common practice at DP is we double park & leave our numbers on our windscreen. Now, we do not have a choice cause there isn't parking right? & let me give you a warning. EVERYDAY there are MBPJ officers "saman-ing" cars. When I said everyday I mean everyday! But they understand the parking problems that we have, so they do NOT "saman" cars that double park. But, at certain days, when they are PMS-ing or there is a new officer OR when the Police decides to drop in, you will get a blady ticket on your windscreen!

3. One way in, One way out
There is only ONE way in & ONE way out of DP. If the bridge leading out of DP decides to "runtuh", I better be having my pillows with me to sleep in office.

4. Management
After complaining to the Management several times, did they do anything about it? No! Btw, the Management for DP is MK LAND! Their cctv outside my office is just for show, it does not work. First robbery, no cctv. Second robbery, cctv still not up! Not only that, my boss refused to pay the maintenance fee because they are not doing anything to help the area. What do they do? Cut the lift to our floor & cut my boss access to her basement car park.
Also, during one of my boss complain at their office, a guy came in lodging a report stating his car was stolen in the carpark basement! & guess what, there are securities in the basements! This is not the only incident. Most of our neighbors all have had their share of robbery. One with a knife at his throat.

However, there are obviously some pros to DP.

1. Food
There are plenty of food there. Chinese, mamak, western, japanese, malay.....Bored of the food in DP? Its okay! The Curve is just 3 minutes away!

2. Location
Close to PJ & the Penchala Link directly from DP. Takes only 5 minutes to Hartamas & 10 mins to KL (without jam).

3. Environment
Not the working environment but the early morning fresh environment. DP is still surrounded by mountains, so early mornings or during rainy days, its really cooling.

4. Shopping
There are a couple of boutiques in DP & the most famous one: Cats Whiskers. Also close to The Curve & 1Utama.

So yea, I am just in a ranting mood. But some eye opener of DP.
As mentioned, will be shifting out by end of the year! Won't mention where yet but can only say our new office is a house which will be turned into an office.

My Merdeka

It has been 10 days since I last updated my blog. Hmm, maybe wifey is right - that I will neglect it 1 day. But I will be kiasu & prove her wrong! Even if I update it only once a month.

Back to Merdeka weekend: How did you guys celebrated it?
For me, Merdeka was a bit "quiet" this year. It can be 2 reasons:
1. With all the "problems" Malaysia is going through this days, I don't feel like a Malaysian!
2. I am getting old!

Let me tell you how I celebrated my Merdeka Eve this year as an old aunty.

I went to Kampung Jawa for seafood dinner with the boyfriend's friend because it was his friend's birthday. 3 tables, around 20 people, eating crab & fish & sotong, etc for Merdeka Eve. No, that is not the true "aunty" part yet. After dinner, we went for drinks. No, not at a club or a pub like Laundry or something BUT at a pub in USJ1 filled with old aunties & uncles & kids at the age of 7 playing pool! Kids that belongs to the old aunties & uncles. & if that isn't hilarious, there we old aunties and uncles karaoke-ing which was the "music" for the pub.
But one thing for sure, the beer is blardy cheap!

Here is one of me & the boyfriend before dinner was served.

The very next morning at 7am, had to rush back to Teluk Intan for my cousin brother's wedding. Had to make sure that we arrived before the bride arrives.

Nothing much to "cerita", so here are some pictures. Enjoy!

My family, excluding my dad & brother with the newly wed.

Picture stolen from my uncle in facebook. Mother, sisters, aunties, cousin & soon to be sister-in-law.

Wedding dinner. My immediate family.

Family with brother-in-law, niece & soon to be sister-in-law.

Sunset! The ladies...

Everytime we go to this restaurant in Teluk Intan, this dish is a MUST! Lobster 4 season...

This desert was really good! Yam with gingko! slurpsss....

The Wedding cake. Super cute.
